ARC at Trilateral Nuclear Energy Dialogue
ORLANDO, FLORIDA– Don Wolf, Chairman and CEO of Advanced Reactor Concepts LLC (ARC), represented the company at the 2018 meeting of the “Trilateral Nuclear Energy Dialogue: Korea, Japan, United States” sponsored by Global American Business Institute (GABI) and held November 6-9, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. This event is held annually and includes mostly senior members of the Korean, Japanese and US governments who are responsible for nuclear energy policy matters. The purpose of these events is to create each year a high-level private workshop among preeminent Korean, Japanese, and American experts in nuclear energy and nuclear policy issues, with the intention of fostering relationships, confidence building, and seeking potential areas for trilateral cooperation.
Mr. Wolf participated in a panel discussion entitled “Cooperation in Innovative Technologies”. He spoke about climate change and the important emerging role that could be played advanced small modular reactors (SMRs) being developed in the US that rely on new nuclear technologies and can provide clean, carbon free, baseload energy. He then presented the ARC-100 advanced SMR.
He was joined on the panel by Dr. Won-Seok Park, Director, Sodium Fast Reactor Development Agency, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and Akinori Naito, Director of the Washington Office, Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). The panel was moderated by John E. Kelly, President, American Nuclear Society (ANS) and former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Reactor Technologies, Office of Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE-NE).
